Privacy Policy

Sudoku Collector · Last updated: 2026-05-16 · Applies to v1.0 and later, on iOS and Android.

The short version

Sudoku Collector does not collect any information about you. No analytics, no crash reporter SDK, no accounts, no advertising IDs, no location, no contacts, no usage data, no diagnostics — nothing. The app does not know who you are and does not try to find out. It plays the same offline regardless of whether you ever connect it to the internet.

If you only read one paragraph, that's the one.

The one network call

There is exactly one situation in which Sudoku Collector reaches out to the internet: at app launch, when it checks for new puzzle packs and downloads the next month's daily puzzles.

The app downloads small files (a manifest, pack data, and a monthly daily bundle) from a static content delivery network over HTTPS. That's it. The request contains no information about you, no device identifier, no advertising ID, no identifier the app constructs or transmits, no cookie. It's an anonymous file fetch — the same kind your phone makes when it loads a public image on the web.

If you'd rather it didn't happen at all, you can turn it off: Settings → Pack updates → off. The app continues working forever on the content that shipped with it.

The content delivery network (Firebase Hosting, operated by Google) keeps standard server logs — IP address, request URL, timestamp, user agent — the same logs any web server keeps. Sudoku Collector does not access those logs in a way that links any request to any individual user, and does not add identifiers to the request to make linking possible.

What's on your phone

Everything you do in Sudoku Collector — solves, daily progress, the Dossier of puzzles you import, theme preference, settings — is stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage. It is not synced to any server and is not visible to any other app.

If you want to erase all of it, delete the app. iOS and Android remove the app's private storage along with the app itself; there is no separate data to clean up and no account to close. There is no cross-device sync in v1.0 — your progress on iPhone and your progress on iPad are independent.

What the app intentionally does not have

If a future version ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated and the date at the top of this page will reflect the new release.

Children

Sudoku Collector is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no user-generated content sharing, and no chat. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change anything here — what data the app handles, what network calls it makes, what permissions it requests — we'll update this page and bump the date at the top. We will not silently remove privacy guarantees from the app and update the policy after the fact.

This policy is written by the developer, not a lawyer. It is the most honest description we can write of what the app actually does — which, by design, is almost nothing.
